Train your baseball players and create a winning team! Can you lead your high school baseball team to ultimate victory? It might be a small after-school club now, but with the right training, even the sky isn’t the limit for this team! Train players by assigning them practice drills. You choose what they need to focus on, such as batting or pitching. Install batting cages, showers, or other facilities to make life better for the team. A good environment makes for more effective training! School life is not all about sports, though. Studying is just as important, so make sure to construct educational facilities to upgrade the school. House students in a dorm and they’ll have more time for both studying and baseball practice! Pick your best players for the team and test their skill at tournaments. Upgrading the School The school can be upgraded in four departments: Study, Sports, Fun, and Nature. To level them up, construct new facilities and have students use them. The higher the level of each of these categories, the higher the baseball team budget and facility fees. You can also unlock new facilities when leveling up.
I don’t know. It makes perfect sense that imagination is truly the most vivid visual display in existence. Books, after all, have been popular for a very long time. So in that sense, part of what makes In Other Waters special is just having excellent writing. Still, even though your choices are often limited, the interactivity is part of the magic of the experience in a way that a book couldn’t emulate. And while the interface isn’t “stunning,” it’s not like the game doesn’t have graphics — it just chooses to present them in a weird way. It’s a fun little indie title. Think if subnautica was a text adventure. Gameplay is a bit shallow, I wish there were more puzzles, I wish there were more things to go back to, more branching paths that were previously inaccessible.
There’s an inventory system and many collectables but not very much to do with them, out of the dozens of in-game objects only a handful offer any way to interact with the world. For what it is, it’s great, but it feels like the foundation of a game screaming for more. As much as I wish there was more I would still recommend playing through it. A beautifully written and genuinely inspired game about exploring an alien ocean. A genuinely unique enough experience that it’s hard to compare to much else! It’s closer to a visual novel / interactive fiction than a more pure “exploration” game, which isn’t a bad thing, but do be aware of it. Nonetheless it really, really does have the “feeling” of exploration to it. One important caveat. In Other Waters has a lot of beautifully imagined alien environments… but they are almost entirely delivered through text. While the text is filled with very good imagery, in the end you need good mental imaging to fully enjoy this game and appreciate its environments. If you are too aphantasic, this game might not be for you.
