ALONE is a horror adventure game. You have to help a guy named Yeongchul trapped inside his home, navigate the house to protect himself from suspicious person.Synopsis Yeongchul returns from work as always. He had a girlfriend named Euna. He returned home, blaming himself for not often caring about her girlfriend because of overtime. But when Yeongchul returns home, he faces a terrible event he couldn’t even imagine. I just have so many questions regarding our main character’s living arrangements such as: where does he sleep if he works all the time? The office? Why can’t he run the laundry before sleeping, if it takes just an hour to run? Why does he have a plate of petrified spaghetti on the floor beside a perfectly usable table? Why is his closet so far away from his bedroom? All perfectly good mysteries that no mere man can answer.

None of its elements is unique but I still personally didn’t feel like I wasted time playing because of the way the puzzles were structured and how the gameplay works, such as restoring your sanity by staying in a room with flickering light. For the price I paid for it, I had a good time! ALONE is a short indie game created by a small Korean developer team. You play as Yeongchul whose after-work routine at home is disrupted by a mysterious caller who threatens him with death and messes with his electricity bill.

Taking around 15 minutes to play through, there are two endings to ALONE, neither of which makes too much sense if you don’t know Japanese, but it’s an entertaining little horror game nonetheless. It has a nice mixture of puzzles and horror and there are some very freaky moments throughout. A freaky little japanese oddity well worth checking out. The story of the game will be unfolded through several scenarios, each one divided into several chapters. Each chapter has an objective for the Hero to complete, while the Evil players will have to stop him (or try to fulfill a different objective of their own). The outcome of each chapter will influence the gameplay of the subsequent one: each scenario is conceived with a branching storyline that can adapt to the actions of the players: if the Hero completes his goals, his life will be easier in the next chapter… but that is also true for the Evil players!
